I have been teaching swimming since 2000, teaching babies and pre-school children through to adults. Unlike many swimming instructors, I only learnt to swim competently myself in my 20’s, and the desire for my own children not to be like me led me to become an AUSTSWIM instructor.
I still remember what it’s like to be fearful of the water, so am understanding of this in learners of all ages. I currently hold qualifications in Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety, Infants and Access and Inclusion. I’m currently working towards my Towards Competitive Strokes and Bronze Coaching qualification.
I have a strong interest and experience teaching swimmers with special needs. Since 2006 I have also been working as a Teacher’s Aide with students with additional needs. I currently work in a high school for students with special needs with an extensive swimming programme, where I teach beginners through to squad level swimmers.
I live locally, and when I’m not working you might see me riding, running or swimming myself, training for triathlons! I look forward to sharing my passion for all things swimming with the residents of The Waterfront.
